One of EfM’s new core texts for Year 4 of the classic program, is Luke Bretherton’s A Primer in Christian Ethics: Christ and the Struggle to Live Well. Bretherton, the Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology at Christ Church, University of Oxford is also a Canon at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford.
Karen Byers and Beth Cavey, co-hosts of EfM Week x Week, sat down with Professor Bretherton to talk about this book. The relationship between human and nonhuman life provides a central focus to the work, which is organized to answer three questions:
What is going on?
What is to be done?
And, how should we live together?
In a lively conversation, we talked about the importance of listening, practical theology and ethics, what is meant by metabolism, the now and not yet, and much more. Have a listen for his response.
